🎓🔧 Plainview Junior High Students Build Their Own Computers!

Mrs. Lee’s Technology students at Plainview Junior High are taking hands-on learning to the next level!

Through a gradual-release learning project, students are exploring real computer components, understanding what each part does, and even learning the true cost of building a working computer.

Using a combination of Google tools and NewEgg.com, each group worked together with assigned roles:

Slide Owner (Group Leader)

Budget Owner

External Hardware Lead

Internal Hardware Lead

Software Lead

Works Cited Lead

Students researched every component, practiced budgeting, collaborated on shared slides, and compared real parts using a retired PC as a reference. They wrapped it all together by designing a full presentation with structure, transitions, and visuals.

The best part? Students learned that building a computer takes teamwork, patience, and problem-solving—and they’re doing an outstanding job!

The final step will be each group presenting their completed computer build. We’re so proud of their effort, creativity, and collaboration!

Plainview ISD Wrestlers showed OUT at their first meet! 🥇 Cidro Martinez took 1st place at 132 lbs, and 🥇 Soriya Peña secured 1st place at 100 lbs! On top of that, Plainview brought 13 competitors, and 10 of them placed in their divisions. Huge congratulations to all our wrestlers for putting in the work and representing with pride!
