Good morning Junior Parents. The PHS Counselors have opened up Wednesday, January 28th for scheduling appointments. If your appointment was missed due to snow days, or if you have not made an appointment yet, please get your appointment scheduled on one of the following days: Wed. Jan 28th, Friday Jan 30th, Monday Feb 2nd or Tuesday Feb 3rd. Several of these days overlap with Sophomore scheduling, and that is ok.

The PHS Counselors appreciate your cooperation and patience in getting the scheduling process done for your students. We look forward to seeing you in our offices very soon.

Due to continued inclement weather conditions, Plainview Independent School District has cancelled classes for Monday, January 26, 2026.

Please continue to monitor all social media and communication outlets with the district for further information on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

Seniors and parents of seniors: Xello is a program our school uses for many different things, and all seniors have access to their Xello accounts through their Google Login. Many scholarships, including some local and regional scholarships, are now available for application. They have deadlines ranging from January through March, but they are all worth looking into. There are scholarships posted for migrant and EB students, for athletes, for scholars, and for just all-around great kids, like the ones we have here in Plainview, Texas! Please have your senior log into Xello and apply! Also, if your student has been accepted to a college or university, scholarships for that school should be available from the school's own website and those will be due very soon. New scholarships are added nearly every week in spring. Also, the Plainview local scholarship applications will be passed out in person to seniors within the next couple of weeks.

The Ring Ceremony will be held on Thursday, January 8th at 6pm in the PHS Auditorium. Please make plans to attend if you have a student receiving a ring!

First period will begin at 10:04am and the bell schedule is adjusted for morning classes. Normal bell schedule will resume at 11:51 (6th period)

SENIORS! This is important: All Texas
residents applying for undergraduate admission to Texas public institutions
through ApplyTexas are eligible to participate. If you want to go to Tech, WT, UT, UNT, Texas State, Tarleton, Angelo State, Texas A&M, or any other public college or university that takes Apply Texas applications, you can apply for free during these dates!

Applications submitted between October 13, 2025, at 12:00
a.m. CST and October 19, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. through ApplyTexas will be free.

A big shout out to all of our PHS families that have taken the time to complete the new Nurse/Counselor form in Skyward – thank you!
We still have a large number of students without a completed form. Students will not be provided with all of the services we offer without a completed form. The majority of what nurses and counselors do now requires this form to be on file, so please take the time to complete the Nurse/Counselor form in Skyward.
If you need help, please call the school and we will be happy to assist you in completing this document.

Good afternoon PHS parents. We would like to ask that you please go into Skyward and complete the new Nurse/Counselor form for each of your students. Counselors must have completed forms that indicate parents are OPT IN for counseling services in order to continue working with students.
