✨🎊As they prepare to take on the world, our Senior spotlight is highlighting two amazing young ladies, Keila Cavazos and Kamila Macedo as they remind us that every journey is unique, and every dream matters.🎊✨
🎓With a creative spirit and an eye for animation, Keila Cavazos is headed to West Texas A&M University, ready to explore her future and find her passion. While she may not have all the answers yet, Keila knows one thing for sure—she wants to bring stories to life and make people feel something through animation. At PCHS, Keila found encouragement and care from Dr. Nessen, a teacher who saw her potential and made a lasting impact just by showing she truly cared. Sometimes, it's those small acts of kindness that stay with us the longest. Keila’s favorite high school memory is simple, yet full of meaning—playing Uno with friends. It was in those carefree, laughter-filled moments that she felt most herself. And it's those same friends she'll miss the most as she steps into the next chapter. When asked about her legacy, Keila’s response is beautifully humble: “I hope I’m approachable.” And that says everything. She wants to be the kind of person others feel safe around—someone who listens, who cares, and who brings a quiet comfort just by being herself. No quote, no flashy words—just realness, and a heart full of possibility. Keila, we can’t wait to see the worlds you’ll create and the lives you’ll quietly touch along the way.
🎓With a heart full of purpose and a dream to inspire others, Kamila Macedo is setting off to Abilene Christian University (ACU) to pursue a degree in Education while continuing her athletic journey playing volleyball at the collegiate level. Her passion for teaching is deeply rooted in her desire to make a difference—to guide, uplift, and shape future generations the same way her teachers shaped her. After college, Kamila envisions a life filled with joy and love. She plans to become a teacher, start her own family, and live out her dream in her very own pink dream home. It’s more than just a house—it’s a symbol of the life she’s building with dedication, faith, and heart. Among all the lessons learned at PCHS, Kamila holds a special place in her heart for Mr. Soder, whose encouragement reminded her daily that anything is possible when you don’t give up. His support was a beacon through the challenges, and his belief in her helped shape the resilient young woman she is today. Kamila's favorite high school memory is beautifully personal: sharing two unforgettable years with her sister at school. Those moments of laughter, support, and sibling bond will always be treasured. As she looks back, she knows she’ll miss the memories, the teachers, and the people who poured into her life—those who helped her grow and believe in herself. Kamila hopes to leave a legacy that speaks to the power of commitment and belief: "Anything is possible as long as you are dedicated and committed." Her favorite quote reflects her compassion and wisdom: "Don't judge others for their mistakes—learn from them." Kamila, your light, your dreams, and your determination will leave a lasting impact—both in the classroom and beyond. Your journey is just beginning, and the best is yet to come.
🌟🎉From creative sparks to classroom dreams, you’ve each walked your own path with heart, purpose, and quiet strength. Keila, your artistic soul and gentle presence remind us that being true to yourself is a superpower. Kamila, your passion to teach and build a life full of love and color is nothing short of inspiring. We’re so proud of who you are and who you’re becoming. Keep chasing the things that set your heart on fire—you’re made for greatness, and the world is lucky to have you in it.🎉🌟

✨🎉As they get ready to begin an exciting new chapter, Carissa Gonzales and Joshua Starkey shine in the spotlight as two outstanding members of the PCHS Senior Class.🎉✨
🎓With a heart for helping others and a deep passion for understanding the human mind, Carissa Gonzales is headed to West Texas A&M University to major in psychology. Her journey doesn’t stop at a bachelor’s degree—Carissa has big dreams of earning her master’s degree and PhD to become a licensed marriage and family therapist. Her mission is clear: to guide families through their toughest moments and help them rediscover strength, connection, and hope. At PCHS, Carissa found more than just academic growth. The school’s high expectations and supportive environment taught her the value of hard work and perseverance. "PCHS pushed me to focus and strive for excellence—it gave me space to grow into who I am today," she says. Her favorite high school memory? Traveling to state with Student Council, surrounded by close friends who shared her dedication and drive. It was more than a trip—it was a moment of pride, friendship, and accomplishment. What she’ll miss most about high school is simple yet profound: the friendships built along the way. Those bonds have shaped her, inspired her, and reminded her of the power of community. Carissa hopes her legacy will be one of impact and compassion—a therapist who helped families not only survive their struggles, but grow stronger through them. “I want to be remembered as someone who made a difference—one heart, one family at a time.” Her favorite quote, by Freddie Mercury, captures the spirit she lives by: “I’m not afraid to speak out, and say things that I want to do, or do the things that I want to do... I think in the end, being natural, and being... actually genuine is what wins.” Carissa’s authenticity, strength, and purpose will no doubt carry her far—and the world will be better for it.
🎓Joshua Starkey's journey is one defined by curiosity, determination, and an unwavering commitment to self-discovery. Though Joshua’s next steps are still unfolding—he’s not sure yet where he’ll attend college—his future is rooted in a firm decision: Mechanical Engineering. This passion for understanding how things work, and his drive to make them better, will shape his college experience and the career that lies ahead. Joshua knows that once he’s earned his degree, the next chapter will be about diving into the workforce, where his skills and knowledge will contribute to innovations that change the world. Looking back on his time at PCHS, Joshua acknowledges the profound impact of his teacher, Mr. Carthel. Mr. Carthel was always there to lend a helping hand, embodying the essence of support and mentorship that helped Joshua navigate the challenges of high school. One of his best memories from high school is receiving his car—an experience that symbolizes newfound independence and the excitement of new opportunities. But as much as he looks forward to the future, Joshua knows there will be aspects of high school that he’ll miss, particularly the people who have shaped his journey. The friendships, the moments shared, the experiences that became milestones—these are what will stay with him. When reflecting on what he wants his legacy to be, Joshua’s thoughts are clear: he wants to leave behind a mark built not only on accomplishments but also on character. He wants to be remembered as someone who was driven, but also kind and supportive, leaving the world in a better place than he found it. His favorite quote—"Death and destruction are never satisfied, like the eyes of man."—speaks to the complexity of life. It’s a reminder that there’s always a desire for more, a constant drive that fuels growth, ambition, and progress. Joshua embodies that mindset, always looking to evolve and push boundaries while staying grounded in the reality that life, with all its challenges, is never static.
🌟🎊As Carissa and Joshua embark on the next stage of their journey, there’s no doubt they will make their mark—one that blends intellect, hard work, and an enduring commitment to making the world a better place. We are so proud of everything you’ve accomplished and the incredible individuals you’ve become. Your hard work, determination, and passion have truly left a lasting impact on PCHS. As you step into this next chapter, know that we believe in you, we support you, and we can't wait to see all the amazing things your future holds. 🎓F rom the halls of PCHS to the future courtrooms of the world, Yaneli Jaramillo is walking boldly into her next chapter—armed with compassion, courage, and a calling. Yaneli will soon be attending the University of Oklahoma, where she’ll be studying Law—not just to build a career, but to become a voice for others, a defender of truth, and a champion for justice. And once that dream is set in motion? She’s packing her bags and planning to travel the world, letting every new place shape her perspective and fuel her purpose. Throughout high school, Yaneli has been more than just a student—she’s been a bright light in the lives of those around her. She credits Mrs. Cook as someone who’s left a lasting mark: "She’s always full of joy and knows how to put a smile on my face." That joy? Yaneli caught it—and she’s passed it on every day since. Her favorite high school memory? Homecoming Week, full of color, laughter, and unforgettable moments. But above all, it’s the people she met along the way that she’ll miss the most. And when she talks about her legacy, her words come straight from the heart: “I want to help people, spread positivity, and always make others feel included. But most importantly, I want everyone to know about Jesus.” In a world that often feels chaotic, Yaneli is proof that faith, kindness, and purpose still shine bright. Her journey is only beginning, but she’s already leaving a trail of inspiration behind her. So here’s to Yaneli—the future lawyer, the joyful soul, the traveler, and the world-changer. We believe in your dreams. And we can’t wait to see the mountains you’ll move.
🎓With a sharp mind, an unshakable work ethic, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of what's possible, Montana Moore is ready to shape the future—one brilliant idea at a time. Montana is currently deciding between top-tier institutions, waiting to hear from MIT and Rice University before making that final call. Wherever they go, one thing is certain: the future of Computer Engineering is in exceptionally capable hands. After earning a bachelor’s degree, Montana plans to keep the momentum going—pursuing a Master’s and maybe even a PhD. For him, learning isn’t a task; it’s a calling. When asked who had the greatest impact at PCHS, Montana didn’t hesitate: Mr. Carthel – a teacher who made a lasting impression and likely helped fuel the intellectual fire that keeps Montana driven. Montana’s favorite high school memory? Academic UIL competitions—where logic, strategy, and mental agility reign supreme. It’s no surprise that these moments, full of adrenaline and achievement, are also what they’ll miss most about high school. As for his legacy? It’s grounded in discipline and intellect: “I want to leave a legacy of hard work and academic focus.” In a world that sometimes celebrates shortcuts, Montana reminds us that excellence is earned, not given. This is just the beginning for Montana Moore. Whether coding the future, building the next breakthrough in tech, or cracking the puzzle of human knowledge—Montana’s story will be remembered as one of relentless curiosity and quiet brilliance.

With her unwavering dedication and drive, there’s no doubt that she will turn her dreams into reality. Throughout her time at PCHS, Mrs. Faunt made a significant positive impact on Tatiana. Mrs. Faunt’s kindness, encouragement, and optimism were a constant source of support, especially when Tatiana needed someone to talk to. She taught Tatiana the power of looking on the bright side and finding strength even in difficult moments—an invaluable lesson that will continue to inspire her throughout life. Tatiana’s best memory from high school was being an office aid during her sophomore year. She cherishes the warmth and kindness of the staff, who made her feel welcomed and appreciated. These connections have helped shape her into the person she is today, and Tatiana knows that the support and love from her friends will continue to guide her through the next chapters of her life. Tatiana hopes her legacy will be remembered for her fun-loving personality as the shortest girl in school—a reflection of her ability to embrace who she is with confidence and a sense of humor. She wants others to know that your size or appearance doesn’t define your worth, but your character and determination do. Tatiana’s legacy will be one of authenticity, strength, and the power of owning who you are. Her favorite quote, "Size does not matter," perfectly captures the essence of Tatiana’s approach to life. She reminds us all that greatness comes in all shapes and sizes, and it’s not about how you look, but how you carry yourself and the impact you have on the world.

After graduation, Daniel plans to attend Lubbock Christian University (LCU), where he will pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Math with Pre-Engineering. His ultimate goal is to become a Civil Engineer or an Architect, combining his love for math and design to build structures that will stand the test of time. Throughout his time at PCHS, Mrs. Fountain had the greatest positive impact on Daniel. Although he struggled with math in the past, Mrs. Fountain's support and encouragement helped him get back on track. It was the little things she did and said that made all the difference, and Daniel recalls feeling less stressed and more confident in her class. The friendships he made in that class were the cherry on top, leaving him with lasting memories that still bring a smile to his face. Daniel’s best memory from high school comes from spending time with his friends after school, engaging in conversations about life while staying active. What he will miss most about high school are the extracurriculars—activities that allowed him to grow, learn, and connect with others. The experiences in band and powerlifting, especially, have shaped his high school journey in ways he will never forget. When it comes to his legacy, Daniel wants to be remembered for his dedication and accomplishments, particularly in band and powerlifting. He’s proud to be one of the four students to make it to Area in band for three consecutive years and for making Area in powerlifting during his junior year. These achievements reflect his commitment, hard work, and perseverance, qualities he will carry with him as he moves forward. His favorite quote, "Walk by Faith, Not by Sight," serves as a reminder to trust the journey ahead, even when the path isn’t always clear. Daniel’s faith and belief in himself will undoubtedly guide him to success, no matter the challenges he faces.

At PCHS, one of the greatest influences on Alex came from the friendships he built along the way. His friends were his constant companions, shaping his daily experiences and providing a network of support, laughter, and memories. Among all the moments that defined his high school years, one stands out above the rest: playing football. Whether it was the adrenaline of the game or the sense of unity with his teammates, football became more than just a sport for Alex—it was a place where teamwork, discipline, and camaraderie were at the forefront. Life is full of challenges, but Alex understands that persistence is the key to overcoming obstacles and reaching his goals. Meanwhile, Melissa’s support and presence have made Patience’s time at PCHS smoother and more enjoyable, providing a sense of comfort and understanding throughout her journey. One of Patience’s favorite high school memories is the opportunity to make friends in each of her classes every semester. These friendships have enriched her high school experience and will surely remain important as she moves forward in life. 🎓Jaryd Balderas is about to take flight as he heads to UT Austin to pursue his passion for Management Information Systems. With an eye on both the technical and business sides of the aviation industry, Jaryd has big plans for the future. After college, he aspires to become both an Airline Pilot and a Private Pilot, combining his love for aviation with his ambition to lead and manage in the skies. At PCHS, Dr. Nessen left a lasting mark on Jaryd. Her determination, sacrificial work, and unshakable dedication to her students helped push him to become stronger in his education. She wasn’t just a teacher; she was a guide, always willing to lend a hand when difficulties arose, inspiring him to face challenges with resilience. One of Jaryd’s most cherished memories from high school is his sophomore chemistry end-of-year lab project. The experience of collaborating with classmates, conducting experiments, and seeing the project come together remains a highlight that perfectly encapsulates the thrill of learning. As he looks ahead, what Jaryd will miss most about high school are the moments spent on drumline—particularly during pep rallies and parades. The camaraderie, rhythm, and energy of performing with the band are moments that have shaped his high school experience and will be dearly missed as he moves on. When it comes to his legacy, Jaryd hopes to be remembered for his resilience, leadership, and dedication. He wants to inspire others to balance hard work with passion, taking advantage of every opportunity that comes their way and using each one to grow and improve. His legacy will be one of quiet strength, motivating others to push forward in the pursuit of their dreams. Jaryd’s favorite quote by Zach Bryan perfectly encapsulates his perspective on life: “I've learned that every waking moment is enough and excess never leads to better things, it only piles and piles atop the things that are already abundantly in front of you like breathing and chasing and slow dancing and love making, fighting and laughing.” This reminder to savor the present, appreciate the simple moments, and embrace life’s journey will no doubt continue to guide him as he soars toward his future. Jaryd Balderas is on the rise, and with his combination of resilience, leadership, and passion for aviation, he’s destined to make his mark on the world, both in the skies and in the hearts of those he inspires.

During his time at PCHS, Isaiah found that one person who had the greatest positive impact on him was Ms. Landeros. He recalls how she always provided great advice and was someone he could rely on for meaningful conversations. This mentorship and support undoubtedly shaped his high school experience and gave him guidance for the road ahead. Isaiah’s legacy is one he hopes will be defined by his kindness and positivity. He wants to be remembered as "a nice and uplifting guy", someone who made those around him feel better and brighter.
