While we weren’t able to attend the closing session due to inclement weather (yes, we hit it hard from Tahoka to home!), we did make a memorable pit stop in San Antonio for a classic 📸 in front of the Alamo.
👮♀️ Mrs. Mad’s Criminal Justice crew also earned top ratings — but we’ll let her brag on her amazing students soon!
💡 As a teacher, I saw leadership, integrity, growth, and vision come to life — all in our first year competing in both Culinary and Criminal Justice! This is just the beginning.
Next goal? 🔥 Apply for the Chapter of Excellence Award and aim for national recognition in service, leadership, and academics. We’re building a Culture of Champions — at PHS and across PISD — Today and Tomorrow with ignited passion.

This week, our 5th graders got an exciting boost in their STAAR Science prep thanks to Think Big Science! 🚀
Students rotated through hands-on, small group sessions that brought science concepts to life and built their confidence for the upcoming test. From exploring circuits to understanding ecosystems, our students were fully engaged and learning in a fun, interactive way! 🧠✨
A huge THANK YOU to the team at Think Big Science for partnering with us to help our students think critically, ask questions, and get ready to shine on the STAAR! 💡💪

We are excited to invite you to a free webinar this April titled "Guiding Your Child through Depression." This informative session is offered in English and Spanish and will provide guidance on recognizing signs of anxiety and have a live Q&A segment where parents can engage directly with a licensed clinician to ask questions and seek additional advice.
In addition to this webinar, our district offers multiple sources of support for families. If you would like more information, please do not hesitate to reach out to your campus counselor. Thank you for partnering with us to prioritize mental health and emotional well-being within our community.

This session will help parents recognize signs of anxiety, provide emotional support at home, and understand when professional help may be needed. Parents will also have the chance to ask questions during a live Q&A with a licensed clinician.
