Public Notice: Preliminary District and Campus Improvement Plans

The Preliminary District Improvement Plan (DIP) and Campus Improvement Plans (CIP) are now available for public viewing on the Plainview ISD website https://www.plainviewisd.org/documents/district/about-pisd/district%2Fcampus-plans/465668.
These documents outline strategic goals and initiatives for the upcoming school year and will be formally presented to the Board of Trustees on August 28, 2025.

Once the plans are approved, Spanish translations will be posted. Families who need access in a language other than English or Spanish are encouraged to contact their campus or the district office, and we will gladly provide translation assistance to ensure every family has the information they need.

Please note that these plans are living documents and may be updated throughout the year as campus needs and district priorities evolve. We appreciate your continued partnership as we work together to support student success and continuous improvement in the 2025–2026 school year.

🚨 Coach Spotlight 🚨

We’re proud to introduce Coach Aaron Montgomery as our Defensive Coordinator for the Plainview Bulldogs! 🐾🏈 Coach Montgomery was promoted to this role over the summer, and we’re excited to see the impact he will continue to make on our football program.

Originally from Dallas, Coach Montgomery has been in Plainview since 2012 and has been part of Plainview ISD for the past three years. With over 8 years of coaching and training experience, his coaching philosophy is clear: “Our STANDARD is THE STANDARD.”

A graduate of Lancaster High School (WEBONATION), Coach Montgomery went on to play collegiate football at Wayland Baptist University. His experiences as a player and the positive influence of his own coaches inspired him to pursue coaching as a way to give back and make a difference in the lives of student-athletes.

Coach Montgomery’s vision for the Bulldogs is to build on the strong culture and tradition of Plainview football while supporting and guiding athletes not just in the game, but in life.

Outside of football, he enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, and gaming on his PS5. 🎮

Help us congratulate Coach Montgomery on his new role as Defensive Coordinator — we’re excited for a great season ahead! 🔴⚪️ #GoDogs #BulldogPride

💚 Wear Green Wednesday 💚

This Wednesday, as Hunt ISD students and staff return to school, we’re asking our PISD Families and students to join together in support. After the devastating flash floods on July 4th, let’s show Hunt ISD that they’re not alone.

We encourage all students, staff, and families to wear GREEN to show our support and to stand #HillCountryStrong with them. ✨

Press Release – Street Project Impacting Central Elementary

Plainview ISD has been notified by the City of Plainview regarding their upcoming seal coat street project. The City will begin work today, starting at 10:00 AM on Ennis Street (between Highway 70 and 10th Street), directly impacting Central Elementary. From 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, crews will then move to 11th Street (between Utica and Quincy), affecting access to Plainview High School. This will be going on today and tomorrow.

We want to be 100% clear that this project is a City of Plainview initiative and is not directed by Plainview ISD. Our district expressed concerns about the timing of this work and even suggested October break as an alternative to minimize the disruption for students and families. Despite those efforts, the City has chosen to move forward with its current schedule.
We understand this project may cause traffic delays and inconveniences for our families, and we deeply appreciate your patience and cooperation during this time. Our priority remains ensuring the safety and smooth transportation of all students.

Plainview ISD will continue to keep parents informed as we receive updates from the City.

Parents, thank you for your patience during the pick up process at the ELC, today. Some unfortunate scheduled road maintenance on the neighborhood road leading into the pick up line caused an unforeseen delay. We are working with city police, city road construction partners, and campus leadership to improve the pick up process tomorrow and into the rest of the week.
