Congratulations to 1997 Plainview graduates Seth Parr and Efrain Ramos on winning the Class 4A Division 1 state football championship this afternoon. Parr is the head coach at Anna (located about 50 miles north of Dallas) and Ramos is one of the assistant coaches.

Our Pre-Kindergarten students rock! They hosted the student-led conferences with their parents to showcase their learning. They did a great job and their parents enjoyed seeing all that they are learning.

There is plenty of basketball action in Plainview today and tomorrow as PHS is hosting tournaments for JV and Freshmen boys. PHS JV plays at 3:00 this afternoon with the 9th grade team playing at 6 this evening.

Fifth grade students at Plainview Intermediate School share some of the projects they created in Social Studies. Students researched an individual from the early days of our nation and created a project to present to the class as they shared what they learned.

Varsity and JV Girls basketball took on Estacado in the Dog House last night. JV girls jumped out to a 21-2 lead after the first quarter and won easily. The Varsity girls lost by three points in a game that was close the whole way.

Plainview Families: The Hale County Literacy Council extends their invitation for their Family Reading Night at the Fair Theatre located at 717 Broadway St. The book read will be "The Biggest Christmas Tree Ever" join them tomorrow at 4 p.m!

Yesenia Pardo, Assistant Superintendent for Educational Leadership, presented the new Attendance Flag to North Elementary School this morning. North Elementary has had the highest average attendance for the district for the first two six-week periods this school year. Attendance is important for student academic success and for the success of Plainview Independent School District.
Congratulations to North Elementary! Thank you for making attendance a priority!
Each six weeks the flag will move to the campus with the highest attendance percentage for the previous six weeks.
