After 21 years of faithful and compassionate service to Plainview ISD, Plainview High School counselor Robin Sweeney is retiring, leaving behind a lasting impact on generations of students, families, and colleagues. Throughout her career, Robin dedicated her heart to caring for others, building meaningful relationships, and helping countless students navigate both the challenges and celebrations of life. She shared that the most rewarding part of her time in PISD has been the connections she formed with students, parents, and coworkers, and the moments when someone simply thanked her for being kind or for making a difference. Those moments, she says, made every long day worthwhile.

One of her favorite memories was during graduation practice in 2018, when staff members surprised seniors with a fun lip-sync performance that brought laughter and joy to everyone in attendance. While Robin will deeply miss helping people and being part of the everyday lives of students and staff, she now looks forward to spending precious time with her grandson and making sure he stays away from toilets and drain lines after a few expensive adventures with misplaced toys.
Plainview ISD is incredibly grateful for Robin Sweeney’s years of dedication, love, and unwavering commitment to students and families. Her kindness and influence will continue to be felt for years to come, and she will always hold a special place in the hearts of the PHS family. Even though yesterday’s Plain View event was canceled because of the weather, they stepped up and helped us cook and pass out all the hotdogs at The Board Room.
We truly appreciate their support and willingness to serve our community. Thank you, Atmos Energy, for helping make the best out of a rainy situation!
Due to high winds and an incoming thunderstorm, the in Plain View event has been canceled for everyone’s safety.
However, we do have 300 hotdogs already cooked, thanks to Atmos. The first 300 people who arrive will receive a free hotdog and water on a first come, first serve basis.

TONIGHT FREE EVENT FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
Tomorrow we will be sending off Ava Rushing as she heads to the State Track Meet to compete in Discus and Shot Put! She will be returning to State, and we are beyond excited and proud of her accomplishments.
There will be a sendoff throughout the schools tomorrow, and we would love for our community to be a part of it! If you would like to help send Ava off to State, please line up in front of Cotton Patch at 9:20 AM.

ELC AWARDS:
Good evening, this call is for all parents or guardians of any 7th – 12th grade student signed up for football next school year. We are having a combined booster club and parent meeting on Tuesday, May 12. This meeting will take place in the PHS Auditorium at 5:30pm. This is a really important meeting as there will be provided valuable information regarding summer, physicals and Rank One information, recruiting answers, and important dates for the start of next season. There will also be an opportunity to have all of your questions answered. We understand if you have other obligations, but if possible, we would love for you to attend and get this very important information. It is important for all football players’ parents, but of utmost importance especially for incoming 7th and 9th graders as they are entering new campuses next school year. Students do not need to attend, but are more than welcome to. We hope to see you there!
