🚒🔥 Join Us for the Unveiling! 🔥🚒 We’re excited to invite our amazing community to the Plainview Firefighters Monument & Memorial Plaza Unveiling! 📅 Date: This Saturday, June 29th 🕚 Time: 11:00 a.m. 📍 Location: Fire Station 2, 2701 Dimmitt Road This special event, hosted by the City of Plainview Fire Department and the Plainview Cancer Support Group, will feature: A history of the project Helmet unveiling Statue unveiling Tours of the station The monument and plaza honor IAFF #3142 for their support of the Plainview Cancer Support Group and thank the fire department for their dedication to our community. In October 2022, a committee of dedicated community members, including Andrea Ingram, Sherrie Wall, Rusty Ingram, Mike Melcher, Phyllis Wall, Carol Terrell, and Le’Ann McNutt, came together to design the mural and raise $65,000 for the project, all through private donations. A special shoutout to the PISD elementary and middle school students who raised over $3,600 in coins for a life-size fire helmet, and to artists Richard Young and Garland Weeks for their incredible sculptures. We’re also grateful to our generous donors, including Lee Lewis Construction, Thrasher, Inc., S & S Electric I.M.S., and many Plainview citizens.
