🎉 Plainview BPA Members Attend DECA Day with the Sod Poodles! 🎉
Six of our Business Professionals of America (BPA) members had an amazing experience at DECA Day with the Sod Poodles on Tuesday, September 10! Alongside 100 other students from the area, they toured the Hodgetown ballpark, participated in a Q&A session with the team’s assistant general manager, sales director, and marketing director, and enjoyed the game with a classic ballpark hot dog.
To top it off, the Sod Poodles won 5-1! ⚾️ It was a fantastic day, and we’re excited to make this an annual event for even more students!

🩺 Plainview CNA Students Attend UMC Healthcare Expo! 🏥
On September 5th, 27 of our CNA students had an incredible opportunity to attend the UMC Healthcare Expo in Lubbock! This eye-opening experience included tours of various hospital departments, hands-on learning activities, and valuable insights into the many healthcare careers UMC has to offer – some that our students didn’t even know existed!
Students had the chance to perform ultrasounds on carotid arteries, practice taking vital signs, simulate medication compounding, and even ventilate pig lungs. They also experienced what it's like to transport patients on hospital beds and toured UMC EMS' mobile hospital, which is deployed during natural disasters across the state. 🚑💉
UMC employees shared valuable advice on being a good employee, the many scholarships available, and how they work with college schedules to support students seeking employment while pursuing their education.
Our students walked away with a new admiration for healthcare professionals and were inspired by the countless opportunities available in the field. We are so grateful for this amazing learning experience! 🙌
