🎾 STATE TENNIS SUCCESS! 🎾 Please help us congratulate one of our amazing Plainview Collegiate students for placing 5th in the entire state of Texas in the 14U Tennis Division! 🏅 Out of 9 tough matches, he only dropped ONE, defeating some of the top-ranked players from across Texas. 🏃‍♀️ Meet Our New Head Cross Country Coach: Trini Perez 🏅 Plainview ISD is proud to announce Trini Perez as our new Head Coach for Cross Country! This district holds a special place in Coach Perez’s heart—as both a former student and now a dedicated educator and coach. With family members who have also served in PISD, she’s proud to give back to the community that shaped her. A graduate of Plainview High School, Coach Perez went on to play two years of collegiate softball at Frank Phillips College, earning her associate’s degree before transferring to Lubbock Christian University. There, her love for sports grew through her work with the sports radio broadcasting team, giving her a unique perspective that now enhances her coaching approach. In addition to her role as Varsity Assistant for Softball, Coach Perez is thrilled to lead the cross country program. Her goals include growing the program, involving student-athletes in the community, and building a team that competes at a high level. “We have incredibly hardworking athletes, and I’m excited to highlight them this season,” she shared. Coach Perez credits her family as her greatest support system. From her own time as an athlete to now stepping into this leadership role, their encouragement has made a lasting impact—and she looks forward to seeing them in the stands cheering on her team. One of her proudest moments came last year when both the middle school boys and girls cross country teams placed second in district. “That season showed me what’s possible when athletes come together and push through,” she said. “It’s a moment I’ll carry with me as I take on this new challenge.” Please join us in congratulating Coach Trini Perez on this well-deserved promotion!

🌟 Behind every student success story is a team of dedicated educators working tirelessly behind the scenes! Last week, the Stronger Connections Grant team—Ash, Plainview Junior High, and Plainview Intermediate—came together for Phase 2 planning. Teachers, counselors, assistant principals, principals, and MTSS staff collaborated to review discipline data and refine restorative strategies that support every student’s growth. 💬📊 Their commitment to creating safe, supportive learning environments is what makes our schools stronger and more connected every day. 💪📚 And yes, there may have been some friendly competitions along the way to recharge and build team spirit! 🎉 We especially thank you for our generous donations from Catholic Charities, Plainview Bowling Center, Canes Chicken in Lubbock, Sonic Downtown Plainview, and Immaculate Conception Church from Muleshoe. We truly appreciate your support for our educators and community!

🌟 Retirement Spotlight: Nati Gonzalez 🌟 After 37 incredible years of service to Plainview ISD, we are honored to shine a well-deserved spotlight on Mrs. Nati Gonzalez! While her official retirement has already begun, we couldn’t let the moment pass without celebrating her extraordinary impact on generations of students and families. Throughout her career, Mrs. Gonzalez built lasting relationships, inspired growth, and brought joy and laughter into the classroom—even on the day she accidentally wore two different boots! When asked what she’ll miss most, she shared: "The spark in a student’s eyes when they finally understand a concept… the laughter, the hugs, and the blessing of watching both students and their children grow. My colleagues have been more than coworkers—they’ve been family." Now, Mrs. Gonzalez is looking forward to turning off her alarms (finally!), gardening, spending time with her precious grandchildren, and taking her very first trip to the beach. 🏖️ Please join us in thanking Mrs. Gonzalez for her faithful service and wishing her a joyful, restful, and adventure-filled retirement! 💐 #PlainviewProud #RetirementSpotlight #ThankYouMrsGonzalez

We invite you all to join Intermediate’s retirement parties. Annie Mirelez: After 30 years of teaching and inspiring students at Plainview ISD, Annie Mirelez is closing this chapter with a heart full of gratitude. From high school to the last ten years with 6th grade students, her passion for helping, encouraging, and motivating students has truly made a lasting impact. She shares: “Working alongside amazing teachers, administration, colleagues, and paras has been such a blessing. I’m incredibly grateful for the memories.” As she looks forward to retirement, Annie is excited to spend time traveling with family, expanding her cooking skills, and raising her beloved shih tzus, Gracie and Danté. “I give God all the credit—for He is good. ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ – Jeremiah 29:11” Thank you, Mrs. Mirelez, for your incredible years of service to PISD. Your legacy will live on in the lives of the many students you’ve touched. Irene Molinar: After 25 wonderful years of service at Plainview ISD, Irene Molinar is saying farewell to the classroom and stepping into a new and exciting chapter. When asked about her favorite memories, she shared: “One of the most special moments is when former students would return the next year and say they missed me.” She says what she’ll miss most is the bond with her work family and students. As she heads into retirement, Irene is excited to welcome a new grandbaby and enjoy a well-deserved mini vacation. Thank you, Ms. Molinar, for your years of commitment, care, and impact. You’ve made a difference in so many lives, and we’re grateful for your service to PISD! Lynda Reagan: After dedicating 30 years to education, including 27 at Plainview ISD, Lynda Reagan is retiring with a legacy full of connection, service, and unforgettable memories. Reflecting on her career, Lynda shares: “The most rewarding part has been the camaraderie. The best and hardest part of my job has always been the people—because even though I don’t like saying goodbye, I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful individuals over the years.” Some of her most treasured memories include coordinating Veterans Day assemblies, National Junior Honor Society inductions, and even putting together yearbooks with film cameras—long before the digital era! When asked what she’ll miss most, she says: “I’ll miss my students. It’s incredibly meaningful to see them grow into professionals—some becoming teachers, some becoming my colleagues, even my bosses! Teaching the children of former students has been such a full-circle moment.” So what’s next? “I’ll do what I want, when I want!” Lynda plans to continue teaching YMCA spin classes at 5:30 a.m., travel with her husband, visit family, and eventually take on a part-time office role—bringing her career full circle. Thank you, Mrs. Reagan, for your years of passion, leadership, and dedication to generations of PISD students. You will be missed, but your impact will continue to inspire.
