Next Man Up

The competition is fierce on the South Plains of Texas. This applies to every sport, both men’s and women’s. Plainview High School is in the process of finding its next leader of the proud and storied Bulldog Men’s basketball program. With the history and tradition of Plainview, the process to select the next men’s basketball coach is one that will not be left to chance or luck.

The Plainview ISD has selected Champions Consulting and Search firm, a firm that specializes in identifying quality, head coaching candidates, to assist Plainview ISD in finding its next Bulldog Men’s Head Basketball Coach. In order to be selected, the search firm met the following criteria:

  • History of assisting school districts identify and place successful head coaches
  • History of success in identifying head coaches in Texas
  • Proven process to build a head coach profile in concert with the community
  • Track record of ensuring student safety by conducting full and complete background checks on all candidates presented to the district for consideration

Champions Consulting and Search firm will build a profile of the ideal head basketball coach in concert with the community and begin the work of identifying candidates. The search firm will seek out candidates who not only match the community profile but also have a strong system for developing a basketball program from the middle school to the varsity team. The district’s expectation is that the search firm seek out the best through its application and screening process.

The Plainview ISD will compile applications for the head coaching position, and Champions Consulting and Search firm will conduct screening and identify finalists. Once a slate of finalists is created, a district committee in the line of supervision for the head men’s basketball coach will interview finalist in person. At the conclusion of the process, the successful candidate will be named, publicly, and introduced to the community.
