  • Ashley Welch | Special Education 

    My name is Ashley Welch. I earned my Bachelors Degree from West Texas A&M in 2015. I am currently still working on my Masters Degree. I have enjoyed teaching Special Ed, for the passed year at Plainview High. I have also taught PE in Tulia and Amarillo, for 1 year each. Coached at both Tulia and Amarillo (Volleyball, Basketball, and Track). I love Special Ed inclusion the most.

  • Gerald Sutton | Special Education 

    I earned a B.S. from WBU in 2002, an M. Ed from WBU in 2018 and will complete a M. Sp. Ed from TTU in 2020. I have taught secondary students for all of my teaching career and made the transition from middle school to high school in 2014. I have been married to my amazing wife Melissa, who is an Educational Diagnostician here at PISD.

    Born and raised in Plainview Tx, I am the 6th child out of 7 children. This is my first year working at Plainview High School as Paraprofessional Inclusion Aid. I am active in my church at Plainview First Assembly Of God. Also an active coach for the YMCA baseball and basketball programs and active member for the High School Baseball Booster Club.

    My name is Katie Wright. I earned my Bachelors Degree from Wayland Baptist University in 2012. I have enjoyed teaching in the Special Education department for the past 6 years. My husband, Jeremy, and I moved to Plainview in 2004 and have been blessed with three children: Tanner (graduated in 2016), Emily (Estacado 7th grade) and Brayden (LaMesa 4th grade).

    My name is Sheila McKay. I am the Special Education and 504 Coordinator for Plainview High School. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from West Texas State University and my Masters of General Science from Wayland Baptist University. I have enjoyed teaching at Plainview High School since 2000. I enjoy spending time with my husband and 2 daughters.

    My name is Tommy Caldwell. I earned my Bachelors Degree from West Texas A&M University in 1981. I have enjoyed teaching resource social studies and functional academics for the past 12 years.

    My name is Monica Garcia. I earned my Bachelor's Degree from West Texas A&M University in 2007. I have enjoyed teaching Math Inclusion for the past five years. I've been married to Steven Garcia for 21 years. We have 2 wonderful children and a grand-baby.

  • Allison Hodges | Special Education 

    My name is Allison Hodges and I earned my Bachelors degree (Sports and exercise science and minor in Math education) from West Texas A&M University in 2009. I currently am coaching basketball and volleyball. I have enjoyed teaching at the high school for the past 10 years doing Algebra 1, with 7 of those years being co-teaching. Plainview has been my home for most of my life, as I graduated from Plainview High School in 2004.

  • Denise Kellum | Special Education 

    My 25 years of public school teaching have all been at Plainview ISD where I have had the privilege of working with many unique and wonderful people from La Mesa, Lakeside and PHS. My 5 children all graduated from PHS and some of my 10 grandchildren have started their years of education at Plainview ISD. My husband and I moved to Plainview from Silverton, TX 25 years ago.

    My name is Chris Richardson. I earned my bachelor's Degree from Hardin-Simmons University in 1985. I have enjoyed teaching Special needs children for the last 19 years.

  • Hermenia Rodriguez | Special Education 

    My name is Herminia Rodriguez. I earned my Bachelors Degree from West Texas A&M. I have enjoyed team teaching with Daniel Stanfield in English 1 for the past 3 years. I have a wonderful husband, Jesus, and two amazing children, Esteban and Benjamin.

    My name is Sherrie Griggs and I am an inclusion assistant and have served Plainview ISD for 20 years. I have enjoyed working with students and watching them become successful in school and beyond once they graduated. I have been married for 34 years to my husband Jay and have two grown children Dustin and Stacey.

    My name is Leah Thurman and I'm originally from El Paso, Texas. My children and I moved to the Plainview area last July. This is my first year working at Plainview High School.
