Dr. H.T. Sánchez Superintendent of Schools

  • Dr. HT Sánchez has served as superintendent of schools for Plainview ISD since May of 2018. His career spans over 20 years. He began his career as an English teacher. He taught middle school and high school English and coached freshmen sports during his time in the classroom and on the court and field. Dr. Sánchez has served as an elementary, middle, and high school principal in the Lewisville, Tyler, and Waco Independent School Districts. He has served as a central office administrator in Tyler, Odessa, and Tucson, Arizona where he served as superintendent of schools for the state’s second largest district.

    Beyond his time in public education, Dr. Sánchez has taught graduate and doctoral level courses as an adjunct professor for Texas A&M University in Commerce, Texas. He has contributed to the body of educational scholarly research with articles published in peer review journals, and he has contributed chapters and finance models to books used to prepare educators and as guides to reform education.

    Dr. Sánchez has presented in the United States and abroad, including at the University Of Oxford, England at St. Anthony’s College and most recently at Columbia University’s Teacher’s College in New York, New York.
