Brandy Tirey | Director for Student Support Services
Brandy Tirey has worked for Plainview ISD for 15 years. Brandy began her teaching career in Brownfield ISD serving as the Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities (PPCD) teacher. While employed by Plainview ISD, Brandy has taught the Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities (PPCD), the Autism classroom, and 4th Grade. Brandy completed her Masters in Educational Leadership in 2013 and was the Assistant Principal at La Mesa Elementary for two years. Brandy then moved to the Student Support Services Office as the Associate Director for Student Support Services. She has had the pleasure of serving as the Director for Student Support Services for the past 4 years. Brandy strives to ensure that all students with special needs receive the highest quality of services in specialized instruction and related services. Brandy is married to Jim and they have three children, Grayson, Sawyer, and Graham.
Diana Banda | Administrative Assistant to the Director for Student Support Services
Diana Banda has been an employee of Plainview ISD for 11 years after having worked for Kress and Tulia ISDs. While employed with Plainview ISD, Diana has been the attendance clerk at Highland Elementary, Purchasing Clerk and Accounting Clerk for Plainview ISD Business Office, and has enjoyed the last 6 years as the Administrative Assistant to the Director of Student Support Services. While Diana does not have direct interaction with children in the Student Support Services program she loves that she is able to contribute behind the scenes in ordering supplies and equipment that are necessary for student success. Diana is married to Antonio and they have 3 children, Juan Antonio 29, Esteban 26, and Miriam 21. Outside of work, Diana enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, cooking, and spoiling her grandson Kayden James.
Silvia Ibarra | Records Clerk for SSS
Silvia Ibarra is the records clerk and the receptionist for Student Support Services of Plainview ISD. She has worked for PISD for the past seven years and enjoys working with students every opportunity she has. When she began working for the district, she was working as a paraprofessional with Special Education students. She now continues her career with Plainview ISD by maintaining their records, transportation, prescriptions, and many other duties. Silvia and her husband Adam have three children, two of which recently graduated from college; Vivian from WT, Sara from Texas Tech, and Sebastian a freshman at PHS. Outside of work she helps care for her parents, gardens and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Jeff de la Garza | Director for MTSS
Jeffrey De La Garza serves Plainview ISD as Director of MTSS – Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, Coordinator for Driver’s Education as a classroom teacher twice a year, and Summer School Principal for 5th and 8th grade retake.
Jeffrey has worked for PISD for 24 years. He has worked at Coronado (13 years) teacher and coach, College Hill (2 years) assistant principal, ASH 6th grade campus (3 years) assistant principal, Coronado Middle School (1 year) assistant principal, Student Support Services (5 years) Associate Director and Education Complex (1 year) Director of MTSS.
Jeffrey oversees areas of MTSS, 504, dyslexia, behavior, social emotional, Irlen, and RTI.
Jeffrey has three daughters Sandra 26, Stacey 23, Stormie 21; and two grandkids Alyssa Acosta 4 and Ayden De La Garza 18 months. Jeff has one son-in-law Roy Acosta 20.
Jeffrey enjoys movies and grandkid times.
Rhonda Jackson | MTSS Specialist
Rhonda Jackson Student Support Specialist – MTSS responsible for performing casework service to help students resolve social, emotional and behavioral problems that interfere with their adjustment to school and their ability to enjoy the benefits of the educational process. Rhonda will provide support and training for teachers, staff and parents to address and manage children with challenging behaviors.
Rhonda has a passion for helping others. Before coming to the district Rhonda had spent 21 years in Mental Health Services.
She is a graduate of Plainview High School and Wayland Baptist University. Rhonda is married to her high school sweetheart Andrew Jackson, Director of Adult Community Supervision. They have 4 children and 6 grandchildren who are her pride and joy. Rhonda loves being involved in sports activities and spending time with her family.
