Karen Sickler | Cape Room Teacher
My name is Karen Sickler and I run the CAPE (creating appropriate positive experiences). I, along with my aide, help students get their behavior in check through the use of coping skills so they can return to their classroom. We want them to be successful in school and life. I have taught both special and general education for 16 years and 1 year as an administrator in New Mexico. I moved to Texas 3 years ago from New Mexico. I attended New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM where I earned both my BA and my Masters in Education. My husband and I have been married for 39 years and on ranches around Northern NM for 35 years. We raised 2 children; Shantell and her family live in NM and our son, Lonnie, who lives in Montana, and we have 2 grandchildren. I love to cook and crochet. I miss having our horses and cattle, but we still have our dogs, Buddy and Barbara.
