Doris Chapa | Chief Financial Officer
Doris Chapa has served Plainview Independent School District since August of 2003, as a librarian’s aide, secretary to principal of PHS, secretary to CFO, financial compliance officer and for the past year as CFO overseeing the daily operations of the business office. She began her career as a loan officer processing home equity loans, and personal loans with Household Finance for 15 years. Doris received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 1989 from Wayland Baptist University. She is a member of TASBO and has received her certification of RTSBA (Registered Texas School Business Administrator). She married her high school sweetheart Albert Chapa a corporate pilot and they have two children; Josh and Kristen who are both graduates of Texas Tech. In her spare time she enjoys reading and spending time with her family, she has also served 20 years in children’s ministry.
Devin Hernandez | Administrative Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer
Devin Hernandez started at Plainview ISD in October of 2018. She is the administrative assistant to the Chief Financial Officer Doris Chapa. She was raised in Plainview, attended elementary, middle school, and graduated from PHS. Devin is a graduate of South Plains College with her Associates of Arts; her Bachelor’s Degree from West Texas A&M in Business and is attending Tarleton State University for her Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).
Outside of work she is a wife and mother of three children; her hobbies are spending time with her family and sports. She has set standards for herself, she has told her children anything is possible; set goals, dream big, and always make sure to enjoy the journey.
Luis Trujillo | Financial Compliance Officer
Luis Trujillo has served as the financial compliance officer for Plainview ISD since June of 2018. He began his career in public accounting preparing taxes, audits and compiling financial statements for various businesses in banking, retail and agricultural. He has since made the transition to work with the district on maintaining compliance with local, state and federal laws among various other financial responsibilities. He received his BBA specializing in accounting from Wayland and MBA from West Texas A&M.
Outside of work Luis enjoys speaking and mentoring students to prepare them for life in college. His passion is to help students discover themselves and pursue their God given calling. He does this through speaking events and an online program which has been published and seen on Fox News, MoneyTalksNews, Telemundo among others.
He has been recognized by TASSP and former Governor Rick Perry for his service to students.
Victor Hernandez | Financial Services Officer
Victor Hernandez has served as financial service officer for Plainview ISD since June of 2018. Where he oversees the financials and payroll for all district. He serves as part of TASBO Emerging Leaders. Raised and graduated in Plainview, Victor is a prime example of Plainview ISD. He is a graduate of Wayland Baptist University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Victor is an active member of Trinity Life Church. He is married and has 2 boys which keep him going all day. Victor likes to stay active by exercising, playing his favorite sport soccer, and spending time with his family.
Laura Spencer | Senior Accountant
Laura Spencer started her PISD career at LaMesa Elementary. She worked at LaMesa for 12 years. First as an Early Childhood aide, ISS aide and Attendance Clerk. Then she moved to the Business Office where she has been for 16 years. Laura started at the Business Office as the Accounting Clerk for 7 years, then Secretary to the Executive Director for Finance for 7 years. Laura is in her second year as Senior Account. She plans to stay another 5 years. Although her title is Senior Accountant, her favorite title is GiGi. She has 4 grandsons that are her life. She enjoys traveling with the oldest (8 years old) to out of town baseball tournaments and spending as much time as possible with the others. It lights up her world when the little ones run to her shouting “GiGi” and jump in to her arms.
Daphne Alcala | Accounts Payable Clerk
Daphne Alcala is the accounts payable clerk and has been with the District for 24 years. She has held the positions of a class room assistant, attendance clerk and also the secretary for 19 years at College Hill. She has one daughter, Courtney Garza and two grandchildren, Cole and Kari. In her spare time she enjoys the company of her grandchildren and shopping with her mother
Becca Dunlap | Purchasing Manager
Rebecca Dunlap has served in the Purchasing Department for Plainview ISD since May 2003, first as purchasing clerk for five years and then as purchasing manager since March of 2008. She is a member of Texas Association of School Business Officials and has CTSBO certification. She manages and oversees the daily operations and contract administration of Plainview ISD’s nine departments and 10 campuses procurement needs while ensuring that purchases are made in accordance with the purchasing code of ethics and guidelines imposed by state and federal law, school board policies and sound business practices. In her free time she enjoys reading, gardening, serving at her church, and spending time with her family.
Leesa Grimaldo | Buyer
Leesa Marie Grimaldo has served as the Buyer in the Purchasing Department since January 2019. She assists the Purchasing Manager, Rebecca Dunlap in ensuring that the purchases for the school district are in compliance by state and federal laws with as well as school board policies. She was raised in Plainview, Texas and graduated from Plainview High School class of 2014. Furthering her education at Texas Tech University in the Rawls College of Business, where she graduated with her Bachelor’s in Business Administration concentrating in Business Management. Texas Tech University has extended and enhanced her knowledge in business by being involved in leadership roles in various organizations and Honor Fraternities. Also, engaging her to attend a multicultural experience in Barcelona, Spain that expanded the importance of globalization.
By returning to her hometown it is her duty to help Plainview ISD grow and expand. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends and raising her new puppy, Oakley that brings her joy.
