Doris Chapa has served Plainview Independent School District since August of 2003: as a librarian’s aide, secretary to principal of PHS, secretary to CFO, financial compliance officer and for the past year as CFO overseeing the daily operations of the business office. She began her career as a loan officer processing home equity loans and personal loans with Household Finance for 15 years. Doris received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1989 from Wayland Baptist University.  She is a member of TASBO and has received her certification of RTSBA (Registered Texas School Business Administrator).  She married her high school sweetheart, Albert Chapa, a corporate pilot and they have two children; Josh and Kristen who are both graduates of Texas Tech University. In her spare time she enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Megan McPherson | Accountant

Megan McPherson joined Plainview Independent School District in May 2020 as the Financial Accounting Assistant to the CFO. Her previous work experience was with Wayland Baptist University as the Administrative Assistant for the School of Mathematics and Sciences. She graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Service Management. Megan is a member of First Methodist in Plainview and is an active leader in the children’s ministry. She is married to Matt McPherson and together they raise 2 children, future bulldog graduates of 2025 and 2028. Their spare-time is kept busy with watching their kids play baseball and basketball!

Luis Trujillo | Financial Compliance Officer

Luis Trujillo has served as the financial compliance officer for Plainview ISD since June of 2018. He began his career in public accounting preparing taxes, audits and compiling financial statements for various businesses in banking, retail and agriculture. He has since made the transition to work with the district on maintaining compliance with local, state and federal laws among various other financial responsibilities. He received his BBA specializing in accounting from Wayland Baptist University and MBA from West Texas A&M University.

Outside of work Luis enjoys speaking and mentoring students to prepare them for life in college. His passion is to help students discover themselves and pursue their God given calling. He does this through speaking events and an online program which has been published and seen on Fox News, MoneyTalksNews, Telemundo and among others.

He has been recognized by TASSP and former Governor Rick Perry for his service to students.

Becca Dunlap | Purchasing Manager

Rebecca Dunlap has served in the Purchasing Department for Plainview ISD since May 2003, first as a purchasing clerk for five years and then as a purchasing manager since March of 2008.  She is a member of the Texas Association of School Business Officials and has CTSBO certification.  She manages and oversees the daily operations and contract administration of Plainview ISD’s nine departments and 10 campuses procurement needs while ensuring that purchases are made in accordance with the purchasing code of ethics and guidelines imposed by state and federal law, school board policies and sound business practices. In her free time, she enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Laura Spencer started her PISD career at La Mesa Elementary where she worked for 12 years; first as an Early Childhood aide, ISS aide and Attendance Clerk. She then moved to the Business Office where she has been for 16 years.  Laura started at the Business Office as the Accounting Clerk for seven years and then secretary to the Executive Director for Finance for seven years.  Laura is in her second year as Senior Accountant where she plans to stay until year 2024.  Although her title is Senior Accountant, her favorite title is “GiGi”.  She has four grandsons that are her life.  She enjoys traveling with her oldest grandson where he plays in out of town baseball tournaments and spending as much time as possible with the others.  It lights up her world when the little ones run to her shouting “GiGi” and jump in to her arms. 

Judy Brake | Accounts Payable Specialist

Judy Brake has served Plainview Independent School District since May 2020 as Accounts Payable Specialist.  Judy has spent the last 10 years working in higher education with South Plains College and Wayland Baptist University.  Judy received her Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Lubbock Christian University in 2009 and her Master’s in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resource Management in November 2019.  Judy has served as Hale Center Band Booster President for 6 years, FBC Hale Center VBS Director for 4 years, and volunteers in Hale Center with the Parks & Recreation Committee and Santa Red & Blue.  Judy is married to Happy, an avid fisherman, and they have a small family of five children, a daughter-in-love, and are Nana and Papa to two beautiful grandchildren!  In her not so spare time, Judy enjoys just being at home spending time with family.

Victor Hernandez has served as financial service officer for Plainview ISD since June of 2018 where he oversees the financials and payroll for the district. He serves as part of TASBO Emerging Leaders program. Raised and graduated in Plainview, Victor is a prime example of Plainview ISD. He is a graduate of Wayland Baptist University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Victor is an active member of Trinity Life Church. He is married and has two boys which keep him going all day. Victor likes to stay active by exercising, playing his favorite sport, soccer, and spending time with his family.
